Visitors and Guests
The myGrid team often host short-term visitors and longer-term guests. These include people who are interested in co-operating with us, want to share their experience in eScience work, want to develop tools, or just talk with members of the team.
Visitors
Recent visitors have included:
- Jose Enrique Ruiz from Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía, Granada, Spain who discussed his work on astronomy and astronomic services.
Guests
Longer term guests have included:
- Micah Linnemeier from the Network Workbench project at Indiana University visited for a week in June 2010. We discussed co-operation between Network Workbench and Taverna, and future OSGi-oriented development
- Satya S. Sahoo a Ph.D candidate from Computer Science and Engineering, Kno.e.sis Center, Wright State University will be visiting in February 2010 to work on a semantic layer for Taverna provenance with Paolo Missier
- Dr Jun Zhao from the Image Bioinformatics Research Group at Oxford University, UK will be visiting in February 2010 to discuss Taverna provenance
- Jerzy Orlowski from the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Warsaw, Poland visited for three months from late September 2009 to work on data type searching within the BioCatalogue
- Morris Swertz, project co-ordinator for MOLGENIS, visited in August 2009 to work on myExperiment and MOLGENIS interoperability
- Andrea Wiggins from Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies (who helped write the FLOSS workflows that analyse opensource development) - June 2009
- Ketan Maheshwari, PhD student at the University of Nice in Sophia Antipolis, France and a developer on MOTEUR (May-June 2008)
- Giuseppe Pirro’, PhD student of Prof. Domenico Talia, University of Calabria, Italy
- July 2009, Richard Peter Weistroffer from the University of Virginia, USA
