Taverna as a portlet

Some workflows are very long running and it is inappropriate to leave these workflows running within Taverna on the users desktop. A proposed solution to this is the ability to run workflows remotely via a Taverna portlet.

Overall Goals

Initially the Portlet needs scoping, both for the short and longterm. Initially, the portlet may just have the ability to enact a workflow, long term plans may be a portal that fully replicates the functionality of Taverna.

• Scope the portal for both the short and long term.
• Review and choose the appropriate architecture (JSP or EJB or Ruby, together with AJAX?) based on the long term scope.
