UML Resources

Current UML software in use is

• Rational Rose - http://www.rational.com/rose
• Together ControlCenter (formerly Together-J) - http://www.togethersoft.com

Both are capable tools, though IT Innovation, who use both, prefer Together. On this basis and that of cost, we will use Together as the common UML modelling tool in myGrid.

Each partner will need to acquire a site license: see below for details.

Notes:
The prices are all based on academic licenses
The site license for Rational Rose is based on 999 users and 5 years

There is no Rational Rose Modeller edition for UNIX. Together is supported on Windows, Mac-OS X, Linux and Solaris; it is itself a Java application and there are also downloads that are probably OK on other platforms (no guarantees, however).

Together ControlCenter Details

To obtain Together ControlCenter use the document attached
Instructions:
Just get a member of staff to complete the attached application form, print it out and fax it to the number on the back page.

The person who applies for the licence will then be sent an Authorisation code and instructions on how to generate the licence. Each student can then be given a copy of the licence, and needs to download a copy of the software from http://www.togethersoft.com
