What is Taverna 2?

Taverna 2, alias t2, alias t2core, is a new development of the underlying framework for workflows.

When is t2 to be released?

We are scheduled to have an initial prototype of the t2 enactor available as a plugin for Taverna 1.7 by December 2007. This Taverna will look just like the old one, but will have a t2 button for executing your Taverna 1 workflow using the t2 enactor, which should be more scalable than the current Freefluo enactor of Taverna 1.6. As this is a prototype, the default enactor will still be Freefluo in Taverna 1.7.

Further development, including detailed UI support for new t2 features, are planned for 2008.
