This release will not include Feta, as it is unlikely that planned
will be complete in time. We will make a further release, current
target date end December, when this planned work is complete. Since
the notification service is not yet integrated with the rest of
myGrid, we won't include it in this release to simplify deployment,
testing and documentation. We do not expect to include a web service
workflow enactor in this release.
Documentation
We decided to create a single user guide (rather than per component
guides) aimed in this release at the bioinformatician end user. Its
focus will be to describe how to interact with the myGrid environment,
mainly through Taverna, based on an example workflow. As well as
sections that can be linked to particular components, it will contain
an overview section that describes the principal interactions 'under
the hood' during workflow enactment.
Release management
We will continue to host CVS at Manchester, along with an automated
nightly build service for components in the CVS. We will set up a
SourceForge project to manage downloads & problem tracking. We aim to
supply two download bundles: Taverna plus plugins & all services. The
plugins may be included in the Taverna download from
http://taverna.sf.net.
