The most extensive part of the provenance record produced by the workflow enactment engine is the detail of the actual services invoked.

For the EmbossProvenanceExample this includes

Provider Name PortType WSDL
soaplab_reformatting_seqret reformatting__seqret reformatting__seqret__derived.wsdl
soaplab_translation_getorf translation__getorf translation__getorf__derived.wsdl
soaplab_translation_transeq translation__transeq translation__transeq__derived.wsdl
soaplab_alignment_multiple_emma alignment_multiple__emma alignment_multiple__emma__derived.wsdl
soaplab_profiles_prophecy profiles__prophecy profiles__prophecy__derived.wsdl
soaplab_profiles_prophet profiles__prophet profiles__prophet__derived.wsdl

As these are all EMBOSS services they follow the standard pattern of operation invocations: createEmptyJob, set_X, run, waitFor, get_X, destroy. see ProvenanceExampleServiceInvocation?

In this example all the services are from the EBI's soaplab installation so an example full WSDL is http://industry.ebi.ac.uk/soaplab/wsdl/reformatting__seqret__derived.wsdl

The Provider Name relates to how the service is identified within the workflow WSFL source. If the locator for this service is static then the WSFL will also include the WSDL.
