The NESC Provenance in databases workshop, 21/5/2008

The workshop has been focused mainly on the theoretical underpinnings of database provenance. Some cool stuff but only if you like algebras.

In particular see

• T.J. Green and Van Tannen (talks 2 and 3) Todd J. Green, Gregory Karvounarakis, Val Tannen: Provenance semirings. PODS 2007: 31-40. The talk was on extensions of the framework to deal with XML provenance. See PODS 2008

Two interesting exceptions:

• Slides for talk no. 2. This talk includes a couple of use cases and some high-level requirements for a process provenance model (as well as for a database provenance model)
