Plans for All Hands' meeting and IF-5

This section contains plans for the next phase of myGrid. This phase contains the following milestones:

• Demonstration for UK e-Science All Hands’ Meeting 2003 (2-4 September)
• IF-5 (end September/early October)
• First public release of myGrid (‘myGrid v1’, October)

To reduce risk, we will base the All Hands’ demonstration and myGrid v1 on the version of myGrid developed for IF-4 and ISMB 2003. These activities should be based on fixing problems with the existing implementations, and not on fundamental redesign.

Beyond myGrid v1, it is becoming apparent that we need review myGrid’s current architecture, design and implementation, and extend it to cover more of our original vision. We will use IF-5 to address the release after myGrid v1, not on finalizing myGrid v1.

Because we will hold IF-5 release myGrid v1 at around the same time as IF-5, we will pursue this forward-looking activity in parallel with the All Hands/myGrid v1 activities. The attached document defines these activities in more detail.
