Taverna & Security - what's the deal

There is a perception that Taverna can't support security requirements. Security means many different things to many different people. Within Taverna, we support access to secured services via the OMII-UK WS-Security implementation. However, we are aware that there are many other emerging models for securing web services which we will support if our user community needs it. If you are a Taverna user trying to use a secured web service implemented using a different model then please contact us via taverna-users@lists.sourceforge.net.

If you are developing a secure web service which needs to be accessible from Taverna (and uses an alternative security model) please contact us via taverna-hackers@lists.sourceforge.net.

If you're working on a large scale integration project and have secuirty requirements, please contact us via taverna-hackers@lists.sourceforge.net. We often find that for large scale projects withsecurity requirements do not require any additional requirements on Taverna itself.
