I am an RA in the School of Computer Science who is currently working on a project called myGrid (www.mygrid.org.uk), in which Nottingham University is a partner.

myGrid is aiming to provide bioinformaticians with access to high-speed (and easy to use!) bioinformatics resources on their desktop. Some initial development has been undertaken, but my role in the project is to talk to people using bioinformatics software to see what they would find what tools they would find useful, and which will hopefully then be developed in the next phase of myGrid.

I was given your email addresses by Sheila Northover, who suggested that you might be involved in bioinformatics. I am currently preparing some information about what myGrid currently does, and I was wondering if you would be interested in taking a look at it, and perhaps taking some time showing me what uses you currently make of bioinformatics software, so that requirements for the next stage of myGrid can be developed.
