Sorry guys - been in a meeting. Now you realise the joys of Taverna and workflows! Welcome to my world! Right my machine was 256mb which is below the minimum required by Taverna (correct Tom??) and so used to freeze - I thought this was just me having a shonky machine but have copied Tom in on this as this could potentially be quite a big problem with users.... all three of us having to find (in my case buy) new machines to undertake this work.

Neil - I think your problem may be something different - not sure what, firewall? Try running Taverna from the same place as soaplab was Phils suggestion yesterday. I've ran out of ideas... : ( Stefan - moving to the bigger machine should solve your woes (fingers crossed) - I'm currently running my stuff remotely on a bigger machine and all is working fine.

Yes my workflows take a while to run - because you are currently running them over 125,000bp of sequence. Figured there was no point giving you small bits of sequence as it need to be able to cope with the big stuff but I can easily give you a smaller piece of sequence for any demos so that it'll run quicker - the time is decided by the input and all the predictions, less input = less predictions = less time. I doubt people will be too bothered about the results - they're interested in the portal ; ) Also, I HAVE to make to working portal for this - not just for the people in my lab but because other tools currently housed as HGMP have lost funding and are not going to be maintained after 2005 so it is quite likly that if we can get this working properly it is such a generic workflow that it will be very useful to all kinds of other people. And, I need it for a PhD? chapter : )

Does that answer all the (current) questions??? Maybe it'll be a good idea to meet up soonish?? Let me know if you need any more info.... Cheers Hannah
