Soaplab is a set of web services providing a programmatic access to some applications on remote computers. For further details see the Overview and User's Guide.

Soaplap itself is generic and independant of the remote applications. An experimental Soaplab service is available at the EBI. This gives access to several tens of bioinformatics web services (SoaplabServiceList).

Many of these services come from the EMBOSS package of high-quality FREE Open Source software for sequence analysis.

  • Others are standard bioinformatics tools Other Soaplab (such as NCBI-blast and WU-blast)

The WSDL file are pre-generated and available at http://industry.ebi.ac.uk/soaplab/wsdl/. For further details see the Soaplab user guide section "Experimental services at the EBI"

For more details on EMBOSS there is a Tutorial
