In Taverna a workflow and its inputs, outputs and services can be described. By describing the workflow and its different subsets, it will easily be sharable and discoverable in registry such as myExperiment.

Workflow Annotation
To access the workflow annotation page:
- Right-click anywhere in the blank space near your workflow in the Workflow Diagram.
- Select Show details from the menu. The workflow annotation page will be displayed in the Workflow Explorer.
You can add the following annotations to your workflow:
- Author: The creator of the workflow
- Title: The workflow title e.g. Get_protein_Fasta
- Description: clear description of the workflow

Input/Output Annotation
To access the workflow input/output annotation page:
- right-click an input/output of the workflow in the Workflow Diagram panel
- select Show details from the menu. Details of the selected workflow input/output will be displayed in the Workflow Explorer panel
- Click on Annotations in the detail view to expand it.
You can add the following annotations to the input/output:
- Description: clear description of the workflow
- Example: Example input/output values for the workflow. Workflow input Example values can be subsequently used to invoke the workflow.

Service Annotation
To access the workflow service annotation page:
- right-click a service in the workflow in the Workflow Diagram panel
- select Show details from the menu. Details of the selected service will be displayed in the Workflow Explorer panel
- Click on Annotations in the detail view to expand it.
You can then add a description to the service.
