- Agenda Bashing

- Actions

- Items

  • workbench plans
  • Updating Jira issues (log work done)

- Round table (what done, what doing and any issues)

- AOB

Actions

Shoaib/Stuart/Ian/Alan/Alex/Stian -  to produce a taverna contributor guide as part of developer documentation (send updated draft to Paolo as an example end user) - stuff on mygrid site

Alan/Stian/Stuart - Update taverna developers documentation - create a Trail (creating a developer environment for building and modifying Taverna)

Rishi - to test archetype trail (Rishi starting on service invocation)

Rory - to test Developer environment trail when done

Shoaib - reword roadmap presented at Helio meeting and send out on the mailing list (Tav-hackers and Tav-users) - on website (and e-mail on Wednesday) - send as is to tav hackers (as on website)

Shoaib - Taverna story presentation app to architecture as as story e.g. Taverna slides for terragrid type scenario

Alan/Jits - discussion about how to put up publications about Taverna and myExperiment.

Shoaib - have a brief look see how documented the link between Taverna and Core - more indepth

Stuart - send updates to wiki page of perf results when done via mygrid annouce

Alan/Stian - Send out SCUFL2 stuff  - Taverna Hackers

Alan/Stian/peter (send workflow) - Peter's workflows that runs multiple times causes a freeze/out of memory issue needs investigating with the profiler - not urgent but probably important longer term.

Rory - portlet deployment now working - done (working on sakai)

Stuart - compose a specification for the 1st version of the REST support (based on e-mail thread).

Shoaib- think about myExperiment presence on Taverna website

Shoaib/Alan - impact project update usage on Taverna site

Shoaib/Alan/Stian - have meeting to put time against workpackages.

Alex - give an update next week - on NeiSS stuff

Ongoing

(note these activities are ongoing but may cease at some point - they are more longterm than actions and are discussion points)

Stuart - perf results.

Shoaib - workflow writers workshop http://www.mygrid.org.uk/dev/wiki/display/tav/Workflow+writers+workshop+2010

Taverna website

Discussions

Carole - Project that use the software, ideas on the website need updating, systematised user engagement for all projects but not for Taverna, regular meeting and international meeting. (Regular meeting). Formalised user engagement. (Could be the Taverna meeting). Handling errors.

Alex - user manual, tweaks, videos from Katy

Carole - flyers - Taverana etc, no flyers about Taverna user for other things e.g. OMII - JPL or AStronomy or Arts and humanities we have material wrote up in magazine - how about putting into flyers could use on the website (Usage - Taverna is astronomy, digital libraries) what you were thinking Frank those articles. Frank give us the material - picture of a plane or astronomy - used in mydiscipline to do this. Marketering ware no scientifc ware - e.g. systems biology biology workflow - something to do with biology - smiling - Owen getting material together.

Alan - Arc plugin has been integrated there are some UI issues with it - not using the credential manager want to take part in cloud hackathon two days before ismb - images of biolinux up in amazon cloud - taverna call things on different images - run in parallel and collage the answers Steffen Mueller and Hajo (something). Arc local or ssh to. Would have to ask the cloud for url of instances. Arc would be doing job scheduling. That we want to support our activity - how does it tie in with Richard Holland. Carole - I want to run something faster (main use case) - ok and where you want to run it. Amazon API locally for biologists. Richard interested in using Hive. Carole asked us do we run on cloud what they mean is Azure or Amazon ECS (can we use Arc as a stepping stone). Standard Amazon API for service discovery. (Fixed cloud, pre-created images, don't want to do lots of data movement could move it to). Biologist EBI cloud configured for them. Find Action - how much it costs.

Simon - e-Lico the convertor is written - simon fisher is away last week - fixed problem (xsd) and claims it is working then we might have demo - did they find a key to the server room. Most of stuff is just for us. demo - 422 operators - if loads and what happens - might take to longer. Reasons there is so many, generate all possible workflows, 6 operators. Simon will present the stuff at the review.

Rishi - GEF - examples good basis - Zest 2 classes to GEF 16 classes. Enough docs IBM red book. (plugin depend on whether they go to e4).

Peter - fixing some platform specific problems with workflows (libsbml) native platform specific libraries - these native libraries in different locations - making some addition to the startup script - freelicense from bitrock - auto installer do editing of Taverna startup script for you and libsbml and jar file depending on different services - opensource. Installaton stuff. Sound good for building Taverna. This week focusing on research village and cytoscape.

Carole - sage bionetwork workbench part of plugin infrastructure. Catty who runs that want to send her developers to Manchester and they would do their integration piece (Taverna as a CI Shell) and they will come in. They would do it. Developers no families and very flat. Indiana campus is nice. On call engineers port code any time. Network stuff - adapts in science maps provenance (long term piece) - Science mappers - that is what they do - analyse papers, conferances and see with lots of text mining, draw maps, they have workflows for this - data cleaning stuff, beautiful works of art, built by cartographers - things to represent the relationship of ideas. 2 days  - whole institite of science mappers in leden and they know marco and barend. Lots of cybers instrastucture to do this, CI Shell, complicated statistical analysis.

Enthusiastic about Taverna and love myExperiment.

Rory - work package one done for NeISS - Airports in a country.

Donal - decent list of requirements in text form - transforming them into Jira and need to figure out how, project officer has asked for a demo of Taverna server - June. Have got effort for this - exception of MSc teaching - make sure that this happens. Command line Taverna more important that the Server.
