Taverna software development and integration (10 min)

• Developer documentation and archetypes being sorted out by Stian
• Ark plugin being developed, demo wanted for BOSC
• Talks underway about integrating with the network workbench in Indiana
• CDK people are talking with Peter Li about ChemTaverna
• Donal has been speccing the Taverna Server
• Will start having monthly users meetings.

Next Gen

• Looking at using Eclipse 4 framework
• Making a conceptual model for driving the design of NG Taverna

Web 2.0 repositories, registries and portals (10 min)

• Not much on myExp
• Biocatalogue will be having a new release this evening.
• Working on Functional Units paper
• Rory - test deployment of his Run Taverna portlets with Daresbury installation

Bioinformatics and data management (10 min)

SysMO

• Finishing off BioPortal plugin, details to be sent to hackers list today
• Finn to start looking at a PMED plugin, and adding Publications as an asset
• Translucent now integrated

Ondex

• Christian continuing to add more services
• Paul spent last week rebuilding a workflow from ISMB
• Found some bugs with XPath which Paul will send on to the Taverna list
• Peter still working on System Biology workflows

e-Lico (5 min)

• Converter written as a plugin for Taverna. Can now load data mining workflow as an ontology file..
• Rapid miner should have changed the XSD, but instead changed services so they conform with the wrong XSD.
• Now working for a demo.
• Paul giving a Taverna tutorial for e-Lico next week. Uses a Biological usecase

e-Labs (5 min)

• Obesity e-labs has been resynced with new meta-data
• Been collecting screen-shots
• Plans to test the new CSV server to support new columns
• Solved PDF problem from last week

e-Galaxy

• Jos & possibly Jano will be joining the biology meetings, and need to be added to the e-lab hackers google group
• Need to create mappings from XML documents for Rory's portal, and Rapid, to the XML required by Galaxy.
• Rory preparing a hand-over document for e-Galaxy
• Sean created a wiki page for e-Lab 

Grid activities (5 min)

• No new news from Helios
• Work going on with ontologies 
• Helios should attend the monthly Taverna users meeting.

Research (5 min)

• Functional units work is continuing
• Discussed last week about Semantic Taverna - consuming and producing RDF. Was agreement that it would be useful.
• Shoaib - the semantic discussions need documenting
• NBIC hackathon in 2 weeks - would be good if someone from the myGrid team joins, and stays to work with an NBIC programmer on some ideas. Difficult to find somebody that could attend.
• Paolo has been discussing with Norman about ranking workflows according to loss of provenance caused by shims.
• 2 European proposals (MedPropsector, Scape) getting close to deadlines.
• DataOne summer of code interseting for Matt and Research Objects

Outreach and training (5 min)

• Katy contacted by White Rose group wants Taverna training

Events and funding news (5 min)

• OMII Collaboration workshop Wed and Thur
• Alex Henderson from MIB will be going to the collaboration workshop.
• DCC on Wed and Thursday
• Research Village - Carole is requesting some information about usage of the Newlsetters. Wants Taverna related articles from OMII newsletters, and fliers produced.

Any other business (10 min)

• NBIC conference on 29 & 30th of March. On the Friday and Saturday before there is a Hackathon planned. Could involve linking AIDA with Taverna.
