Taverna software development and integration (10 mins)

Alan said that most of the required improvements for the beta had been done.  The remaining changes were to add the API consumer service, service monitoring, remove the activity palette, add in provenance and alter the help files.  The renaming will be done after the beta to ensure that all necessary renames are done.

Marco wants to try his new plugin with the snapshot.  It is difficult to determine the correct version numbers to use.  The myExperiment plugin has the same problem.

Issue of what to do with the caGrid-related bug that Stian is working on.

Web 2.0 Repositories and Registries (5 mins)

BioCatalogue will be part of the BioIT Alliance.  BioCatalogue will be doing SeekDA import of bioinformatics-relevant services.  It is a re-runnable mine rather than an ongoing synchronization.

Bioinformatics and data management (10 min)

Sysmo is geraring up for evaluation.  Four posters were done last week.  Had discussion with Khalid about componentization.

For Ondex, David visited Rothamstead.  The backend code is being refactored.  The demo for ISMB has been accepted.  Ondex cna now import graphs into the frontend.  The sercurity layer is being re-evaluated for webservices.  Can re-use code from Shared Genomics.

The problem with adding plugins has been sorted out.

 Paul has fixed an infinite loop but is stuck with complex regular expressions.

e-Labs (5 mins)

Shoaib has got the project manager job.  Congratulations to Shoaib.

Sean is revising the white paper on the wiki.  Dave de Roure talked bout research objects at HCLS.

For Obesity e-Lab, they are re-assessing the way forward.  There is a meeting on June 5th.  Talking to UKDA head about authorization and audit requirements.  Meeting with Steve Pettifer to discuss UI issues and the difference between what to search over and what to present.  Sarah is meeting users - expert users think the survey structure is OK and are unlikely to put in information to pre-seed it.

Grid activities (5 mins)

caFrid service is now working with the service panel in Taverna 2.1  Stian and Alex are off to Boston on Sunday.

Outreach and Training (5 mins)

Claire Stoggart is coming today (Tuesday 5th) to discuss Taverna, myExperiment and EBI.  Paul is meeting the contact from BioPhysics on Friday.

Events - Funding news (5 mins)

Action on Marco to chase up NBIC meeting at the end of May

Action on Alan to find a laptop for the NeISS meeting next week.  Website for neiss is www.neiss.org.uk

Marcia King from caGrid is coming on 22/23 June.

Action on Constantinos and Alan to archive visitors on the website.

May 26/27, Peter is coming to stay for two months.  Action on Paolo to send round details.

Research (5 mins)

Paolo has been doing OPM.  Export is now done.  He has published Taverna's graph to the wiki.  Will now progress to doing import of OPM.

Xin has submitted an interim report and will use the exhibit from MIT.

Group are talking to Wei about re-run from provenance.
